FAQs
What counts as an emergency heating or air-conditioning problem?
Anything that poses an immediate risk to your comfort, safety, or property is treated as an emergency. Typical examples include a total loss of heating in winter, refrigerant or water leaks, gas smells, sparking or smoking equipment, loud banging noises from a boiler or AC compressor, or a system failure that could damage pipes or electrics if left unattended. If you are unsure, call us and we will advise whether an urgent visit is required.
How fast can you get to me in Harrogate or the surrounding area?
Our on-call engineers are based in and around Harrogate, which means we can usually be on site within 60–90 minutes of your call. Areas such as Knaresborough, Ripon, Pannal, Starbeck, and Boroughbridge receive the same rapid response. In severe weather or very busy periods we will give you a realistic ETA when you ring, and keep you updated en-route.
Do you operate 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays?
Yes. Our emergency hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether it’s Christmas morning or 3 a.m. on a Sunday, a qualified heating or AC engineer is available to attend. You will always speak to a local dispatcher—never a call centre outside the area—so we can mobilise help immediately.
What does an emergency call-out cost and are there hidden charges?
We charge a fixed call-out fee that covers travel to your property and the first hour of labour. This rate is quoted clearly over the phone before we dispatch an engineer. If parts or additional labour are needed, we will explain the options and costs before proceeding. There are no after-hours surcharges, credit-card fees, or other hidden extras.
Are your engineers qualified to work on my specific boiler or air-conditioning system?
All of our engineers are Gas Safe registered for natural gas and LPG boilers, and hold F-Gas certification for split, multi-split, and VRF air-conditioning equipment. We regularly train with leading manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Daikin, and Mitsubishi Electric, so we can safely diagnose and repair virtually any domestic or light-commercial system found in Harrogate homes and businesses.
Is there anything I should do while waiting for the engineer to arrive?
If it is safe, turn off the affected appliance at the mains or isolation switch to prevent further damage. For gas boilers, shut the gas supply off at the meter if you smell gas. For water leaks, close the nearest isolation valve or the property’s stop tap. Keep the area clear for the engineer and have any warranty or service history to hand. Avoid attempting repairs yourself, as this can invalidate warranties and create safety hazards.
