FAQs
Are your emergency heating and air-conditioning services really available 24/7 in Knoxville?
Yes. Our dispatch center is staffed around the clock, 365 days a year—including nights, weekends, and holidays. The moment you call, a live Knoxville–based representative will take your information, triage the situation, and route the closest on-call technician to your address.
How quickly can a technician get to my home during an HVAC emergency?
Because we keep multiple crews on standby throughout Knox County, our average arrival time inside city limits is 60 minutes or less. In outlying areas (Farragut, Powell, Mascot, etc.) travel time is typically 60–90 minutes, weather and traffic permitting. You’ll receive a text with the technician’s name, photo, and GPS ETA as soon as the call is dispatched.
What issues qualify as an HVAC "emergency" and when should I call?
Call immediately if you experience: • No heat and outdoor temperatures below 40°F or no cooling when the heat index exceeds 90°F. • Smoke, sparks, or a burning electrical smell coming from the furnace or air handler. • Loud grinding, banging, or screeching noises that begin suddenly. • Water leaking from the indoor coil or ceiling. • A tripped carbon-monoxide alarm or visible soot around vents. Even if you’re unsure, call us—our dispatcher will help determine urgency at no charge.
How much does an emergency HVAC repair cost and are there after-hours fees?
We charge a flat $119 diagnostic fee for emergency calls, which covers travel, system inspection, and a written estimate. After 8 p.m. and on major holidays the diagnostic fee rises to $159 to cover overtime costs, but the labor and parts prices remain the same as daytime rates. You’ll always receive a firm, upfront price before work begins, and we honor military and senior discounts even on emergency visits.
Is there anything I should do while waiting for the technician to arrive?
Yes—safety first. 1) Turn off the HVAC system at the thermostat and, if you smell burning or see water, switch the breaker off as well. 2) Check or change the air filter; a clogged filter can cause overheating and freeze-ups. 3) Make sure pets are secured and pathways to the indoor and outdoor units are clear. 4) Gather any warranty papers or maintenance records you have; they help speed diagnosis. 5) If temperatures are extreme, move family members—especially infants or elderly—to a neighbor’s or set up portable heaters/fans until we arrive.
Do you service all HVAC brands, and can you get parts the same day in Knoxville?
Our NATE-certified technicians are trained on every major brand—Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, Daikin, and more. Each service van carries over 500 fast-moving parts (capacitors, igniters, contactors, common motors, etc.) so most emergencies are fixed on the first visit. For less common components we have accounts with Knoxville’s two largest supply houses, allowing us to pick up parts until midnight and finish the repair the same day whenever possible.
